Success stories

Find out more
We are very fortunate to have worked with some amazing clients on some fantastic projects. Our commitment to delivering a quality service ensures that we are the partner of choice to deliver your projects - from designing concepts to turning your ideas into production-ready patterns!
Head In the cloud’s festival – Los Angeles
We worked with a Yorkshire based company to produce a stage set for the fifth year of the “Head in the clouds music festival” in Pasadena, California.

We were tasked with manufacturing the GRP components of the stage emblem, a cloud themed character with moving eyes, legs, and arms… with laser’s installed in the eyes and CO2 gas canisters installed into the side of the head to add to the special effects. The complete assembly spanned over 11 metres wide by 7m high.
Bears of Sheffield – South Yorkshire
We partnered with Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity (TCHC) to create a character trail featuring 140 bears, inspired by a historic steel monument in Sheffield’s botanical gardens. Using 3D scanning and reverse engineering, we designed the bears, which included 60 large ones painted by local artists and displayed citywide, and 80 smaller ones decorated by schoolchildren. Our CAD/CAM team crafted the prototypes on 5-axis CNC machines, followed by moulding and finishing by our skilled laminators. After several months on display, the bears were auctioned, raising over a million pounds for the children’s hospital.
Grantley Hall Hotel and Wellness Retreat Project - Simpson Patterns
This prominent project involved the comprehensive refurbishment of an existing Grade II listed hall, alongside the construction of a new state-of-the-art spa and wellness retreat. R N Wooler successfully transformed the historic hall into a luxury 'Relais Chateaux' hotel, featuring exquisite rooms and suites, as well as a diverse range of dining options. Simpson Patterns Ltd was commissioned to design the GRP columns, facades, and wall recesses, collaborating closely with an application company to achieve a stone-like texture for the finished products. Additionally, Simpson Patterns Ltd partnered with R N Wooler to develop an effective fastening system and joining mechanism for the columns, façade, and wall recesses. We are pleased to have completed our scope of work on time and within budget, and to have been selected for this noteworthy aspect of the £70 million renovation project aimed at transforming Grantley Hall into one of the country's prestigious country house hotels.
