What is 3D Scanning?

3D scanning is a quick and accurate method of capturing the physical shape of an object, that is stored as a 3D point cloud electronically. It is a non-contact and non-destructive method that is accurate to as little as +/-0.002mm.

Once a part/component has been 3D scanned, the digital scan data can be used for a variety of purposes such as measuring/inspecting, reverse engineering or simply storage for future reference. 3D scanning is the modern way of measuring. It is extremely accurate and reduces time and costs dramatically.
